LANCASTER, Pa. – Three of Franklin & Marshall’s postseason eligible teams are set to compete in this week’s Centennial Conference (CC) Tournament. Field hockey won the CC regular season for the fourth time in five years and will host this weekend’s Semifinal and Championship rounds in Lancaster.
Men’s soccer will travel to Haverford to take on Dickinson as the No. 2 seed on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., while volleyball, the No. 5 seed, will travel to McDaniel on Wednesday for a first round matchup with the Green Terror at 7:00 p.m.
The Diplomats enter their fifth consecutive postseason, looking for the program’s first CC Championship since 2012. F&M heads into this weekend’s action as the No. 1 seed with a 15-2 overall record, including a 10-game winning streak, and a perfect 10-0 conference mark.
The NCAA First Round will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 11 with the CC Champion earning an automatic bid. The Second Round and Quarterfinals are set for Nov. 14-15, with the Semifinals and NCAA Championship slated for Nov. 21-22 in Lexington, Va. F&M returns to the playoffs for the seventh straight season and is aiming for its first CC Title since 2013. The Diplomats enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed after concluding the regular season with a 15-2 overall record and a 7-2 tally in the conference.
The CC Champion will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, which begins its First and Second Rounds on Nov. 14-15. The Sweet 16 and Quarterfinal rounds take place Nov. 21-22, with the Final Four and NCAA Final slated for Dec. 4-5 in Kansas City, Mo. Volleyball played its way into the conference tournament for the eighth straight season and is looking to defend its 2014 CC Title. For the second straight year, the Diplomats enter as the No. 5 seed, concluding the regular season with a 14-14 overall record and a 6-4 tally in conference competition.
The NCAA First and Second Rounds are slated for Nov. 13-14, with the Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Championship matches taking place from No. 19-21 in Grand Rapids, Mich. The tournament's field will be announced during the NCAA selection show on Monday, Nov. 9 at 11:00 a.m., which can be found here.
