Club Sports at F&M
What are club sports?
Club sports are a variety of traditional and non-traditional
activities that compete in leagues and tournaments against other
club teams from colleges and universities from around the region
and country.
What are club sports all about?
Sport clubs provide an opportunity for students to compete at
various levels of play against other colleges while remaining
student-initiated and organized with an emphasis placed on
participation.
Club sports focus on three main areas:
- Competitiveness-Students who are looking for the competitive aspect of the activity.
- Educational-Students who are looking at club sports to either learn the sport for the first time or to further develop their skills.
- Social-Students who are looking for a social setting to get to know other students who have similar interests as they do.

Do I need to have experience to participate in a club
sport
Since most of the activities are new to participants, experience
is not required. The coaches and members of the club will teach new
members how the activity is performed. Some clubs might have
equipment requirements.
What do I need to do to get involved?
You can contact the presidents of a club to join. Traditionally
all of the clubs are involved in Campus Activities Fair early in
the school year and that is a great place to meet members of the
clubs and ask questions.
Is there a cost?
Some clubs charge membership dues to help to financially support
the clubs.
