Gallagher Named Scholar All-American

Franklin & Marshall College women’s golfer, Grace Gallagher, was named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Scholar All-American team when it was announced Wednesday. She is the first F&M women’s golfer to earn the honor and the only golfer from the Centennial Conference selected this season. (more)

Robinson Set for Hall Induction

Franklin & Marshall men’s basketball coach, Glenn Robinson, will be inducted into the Delaware County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, June 28. Robinson will enter the Hall with a distinguished class that includes broadcasting legend, Harry Kalas, and Vince Papale, the former Philadelphia Eagle and subject of the 2006 film Invincible. Elfring Claims NCAA Statistical Title

The NCAA confirmed what opposing pitchers already knew, Caitlin Elfring, a rising senior at Franklin & Marshall College, was the nation’s toughest player to strike out in NCAA Division III in 2009 (more)

Pritchard & Summers Named Players of the Year

The IWLCA announced the honorees for Players of the Year as 12 student-athletes received recognition at the annual All-American banquet tonight (June 13), held this year in King of Prussia, Pa. at the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge. Eight schools had student-athletes named as the top player for their respective positions by the organization, including C. W. Post, Franklin & Marshall, North Carolina, Salisbury, each of which had two student-athletes so honored. (more)

It’s First & Goal for Football Staff

Franklin & Marshall College’s head football coach, John Troxell, is set to work the 2009 the second half of the annual Lauren’s First and Goal Foundation camps. The one-day charity camps will be held annually at Lafayette University and the University of South Florida benefit the Lauren’s First and Goal Foundation. Troxell and his wife, Pamela, serve on the Foundation’s Board of Directors. (more)

Pritchard Honda DIII Athlete of the Year

Franklin & Marshall graduate, Jen Pritchard ’09, has been named the 2008-2009 Division III Women’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Year. The Collegiate Women Sports Awards, sponsored by Honda, bestowed the honor upon the Diplomats’ attack. (more)

Herbert Earns Third NWCA All-Academic Team Honor

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced All-Academic wrestling team and its annual Division I All-Academic Top 30 Team listing for the 2008-09 season. For the third time in as many years, Franklin & Marshall 174-pound wrestler, Justin Herbert, was named to the team. EIWA rival, Harvard, coached by Franklin & Marshall alumnus, Jay Weiss ’90, posted the nation’s second best team grade point average. (more)

Six Diplomats Named All-American by US Lax/IWLCA

Six members of Franklin & Marshall’s Women’s Lacrosse team were named All-Americans by US Lacrosse and the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). (more)








Lacrosse Captures Second NCAA Championship
62 seconds away from defeat, Franklin & Marshall’s Cat Serpe streaked into the Salisbury eight-meter fan and dumped the ball inside of the right post. Serpe’s shot salvaged the season and sent the 2009 NCAA Division III National Championships into overtime. 162 seconds later, Blake Hargest cashed in on the second life to deliver the Diplomats (21-1) an 11-10 win over the Sea Gulls (20-2) and their second NCAA Championship in three years.


In order to create a more integrated community of student athletes, administrators, and the greater college community, Dip Pride aims to acknowledge, develop, and encourage the student-athletes' contributions to Franklin and Marshall College and Lancaster County's communities.
