Diplomats Fall to Dickinson

LANCASTER, Pa. – No. 15 Franklin & Marshall dropped a 77-66 contest to Dickinson Saturday afternoon on Glenn Robinson Court at Mayser Center.  The loss stops the Diplomats ten-game winning streak as they fall to 20-5, 15-3 CC. Dickinson improved to 14-11, 12-6 CC.

The Red Devils jumped out to a 17-7 advantage almost eight minutes into the game.  Dickinson took it largest lead of the game, 24-11, at 9:42 on a trey by Adam Honig. F&M answered with a 12-1 run to pull within two, 25-23, with just under five minutes in the first half. Dickson countered with a 10-1 run and took a 39-31 edge into the break.

Dickinson stayed ahead by double-digits for most of the second half.  The Diplomats put together a late, 10-2, run to come within five points with 2:19 remaining in the game. Four straight points by the Red Devils and 6-for-7 shooting from the stripe, secured the victory for the Red Devils.

Georgio Milligan paced the Diplomats with 14 points and four assists. Mike Baker netted 13 with 12 boards for his 10th double-double of the season. Brandon Beckford and James McNally both finished with 12 points.

Matt Dolan scored a game-high 19 points for Dickinson. Honig finished with 16 and Chris Barsnati turned in 13 points. Tucker Landy contributed 10 points on the evening.

The Diplomats will host the Centennial Conference playoffs next weekend. F&M will face the winner of Wednesday's first round game between McDaniel and Haverford. Dickinson, the #2 seed, will face Gettysburg.

Following the game, President John Burness '67 officially named the hardwood at Mayser Center "Glenn Robinson Court".  Many of Robinson's former players were on hand to witness the event.

On Friday evening at dinner with close friends of the program, Robinson was given the F&M Presidential Medal by President Burness.  He became just the ninth person to be awarded the medal.
