Federici Named ECAC Rookie of the Year; Lands on Second Team

LANCASTER, Pa. — Brandon Federici was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) All South Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Star Second Team when the teams were released earlier this week.

Federici (Morganville, N.J. / Lawrenceville School) has earned multiple awards this postseason. The freshman earned D3hoops.com Middle Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year, D3hoops.com All-Region Second Team, Centennial Conference (CC) Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the All-CC First Team.

Federici led the conference and the nation's freshmen – all divisions – in scoring at 19.3 ppg. He reset the conference single-season mark for rookies with 502 points, which also ranked 12th in program history. Federici had the second best free throw percentage in the CC at 85.1, led the team and ranked ninth in the conference with 65 assists and finished in double-figures in 24 contests this season, including 11 20-plus point performances. He tallied a career-high 31 points against Washington and reached the 30-point plateau in three games.

The Diplomats made their 18th CC Tournament appearance, 14th in the last 17 years, and finished the season with a 20-6 record; the 26th year F&M has won 20 or more games.
