CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's men's rowers won all three races in which they competed Sunday afternoon. The crews rowed a 1,500-meter course on the Schuylkill into a strong current and moderate headwind.
Diplomat varsity men's eight of (from bow to cox) Ho Hong Lau, Nick Ferra, Aaron Hodes, Will Riegel, Daniel Falciani, Patrick Maloney, Brent Schneider, Conor Borak and coxswain Kevin Brown raced to a convincing win over Scranton University. The Diplomats raced to a 6:11.1, 39 seconds faster than second place Scranton.
Three members of the varsity eight Nick Ferra, Brent Schneider and Aaron Hodes rowed a second time, combining with Chris Virunurm and coxswain Kevin Brown in the men's varsity four. The Diplomats defeated Susquehanna University by 12 seconds.
In the novice men's four race, crew members Chris Virunurm, Clement Hsu, Kyle Rothman, Greg Hershman, along with coxswain Juan Pitarque, rowed to a strong first place finish on a 1,300-meter course. The F&M boat came in ahead of two Scranton boats and a crew from Susquehanna.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on April 18 against Lehigh, Penn State and Lafayette.
