PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A pair of Varsity 8+ boats took to the water at Saturday's annual Kerr Cup on the Schuylkill River, marking an end to regular season competition for Franklin & Marshall men's rowing.

A team of Tamir Shemesh (coxswain), James Nelson (8), Aidan Molloy (7), Craig Fanto (6), Jonathan Munro (5), Ben Carroll (4), Trexler Hirn (3), Joel Cannon (2), Brandon Schneider (1) represented the Diplomats in the Varsity 8+ event, finishing their heat with a time of 7:00.80 to place fifth. Only the top four spots advanced to the afternoon's Grand and Petite Finals.
The Second Varsity 8+ boat of Meredith Cooney (coxswain), Calvin Coffeen (8), Lukas Grattan (7), Sam Parsons (6), Steven Nicodemo (5), Stuart Cattel (4), Chris Howe-Smith (3), Ngoun Lay (2) and Giuseppe Inglima (1) finished with a time of 7:52.99 in their opening heat to land in the event's Petite Final, where the group placed fourth with a time of 7:27.20. Bucknell came in first at 6:31.15.
F&M returns to competition on Saturday, April 29 at the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference (MARC) Championships in Lewisberry.
