Diplomats Compete in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A pair of Varsity 8+ boats took to the water on Saturday in New York as Franklin & Marshall's men's rowing team competed in a series of duels against Rochester and RIT.

The Diplomats' First Varsity 8+ boat of Tamir Shemesh (coxswain), Aidan Molloy (8), Sean Hyland (7), Lukas Grattan (6), Trexler Hirn (5), James Jarvis (4), Harris Karlin (3), Joel Cannon (2) and, Brandon Schneider (1) downed Rochester in their morning duel with a time of 8:04.65, compared to 8:11.27 by the Yellow Jackets. 

In the PM session, the First Varsity 8+ boat fell to RIT. F&M finished with a time of 8:27.49, compared to 7:41.33 from RIT.

F&M's Second Varsity 8+ boat of Meredith Cooney (coxswain), Ben Carroll (8), Sam Parsons (7), Craig Fanto (6), Dylan Smith (5), Christian Jones (4), Ricky Ferris (3), Ngoun Lay (2), and Giuseppe Inglima (1) took part in one race on the day, finishing second to RIT with a time of 8:46.15. The Tigers secured the duel victory with a time of 7:46.15. 

The Diplomats return to competition next weekend at the Knecht Cup in West Windsor, N.J.
