LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall’s Department of Athletics and Recreation announced the 2009 Football schedule on Thursday. The Diplomats will face the same ten opponents they faced a season ago.
“Six of our ten opponents have appeared in the NCAA postseason in at least one of the past two years,” said Diplomats Head Coach, John Troxell. “We appreciate the challenge this schedule poses both in and out of Centennial Conference play.”
The 2009 slate marks the last time F&M will play Centennial football in its current configuration. Susquehanna will join the league as an Associate member in football in 2010, making the Centennial a nine-game slate going forward.
The Diplomats open on the road at Washington & Lee, an added bonus for B2 season pass holders. The Generals are also B2 partners, giving pass holders access to at least six games. The home opener will take place the following Saturday against Catholic University, while the Centennial opener will be played against Dickinson on Sponaugle-Williamson Field on Saturday, September 19.
F&M will take on Muhlenberg on Homecoming on Saturday, October 24. The bye week is October 3rd.
All games times are set for 1:00 p.m. except for Homecoming, which is set for a 1:30 p.m. start.
