George Eager was named the Centennial Conference’s Special Teams Player of the Week following Friday’s loss at Dickinson.  Eager returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, prompting Dickinson to squib its subsequent kickoffs. The Diplomats average starting field position following the return was approximately the 38-yardline.

The touchdown was F&M’s first on a kickoff return in over a decade.

For Eager, the honor was his first as the Special Teams player of the Week. He was twice named to the Weekly Honor Roll on special teams last year, including his third week of the season when he made the list for his effort at Juniata. He was also named to the Centennial Weekly Honor Roll as a receiver twice last year, and to the D3Football.com Team of the Week after last year’s game at Juniata.

Eager is the second Diplomats’ return specialist to earn Player of the Week honors this season. Jarell Diggs took the award in week 1 returning a Washington & Lee punt 49 yards to paydirt to ice the Generals in F&M’s lone win of the season.
