LANCASTER, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall junior wide receiver, George Eager (Lititz, PA / Manhiem Twp.), was named the Centennial Conference's (CC) Offensive Player of the Week following his effort in the Diplomats' 20-0 win over McDaniel College on Saturday.
Eager hauled in seven passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. His score was the second touchdown for the Diplomats in the first quarter. Fellow receiver, Jarrell Diggs took the option to pass on reverse, end-around, and found the F&M junior 15-yards beyond the McDaniel secondary for a 65-yard touchdown pass. The play was two yards shorter than F&M's longest play of the season that the same pair combined for during F&M's last home game, three weeks ago.
Eager had one reception for 28-yards on F&M's first scoring drive, a 12-play, 86-yard effort that made it 7-0 with 5:40 left in the first quarter.
Eager was named the CC Special Teams Player of the Week after the Dickinson game, during which he returned a kickoff 85-yards for a touchdown. He has also been named to the Centennial's Weekly Honor Roll as a special teamer and a wide receiver already this season. He was named to the Weekly Honor Roll three times last year, his first in the Centennial. James Gregory and Jarrell Diggs were also named Centennial Players of the Week this season.
Franklin & Marshall is currently 4-4 (3-3 CC) with all four wins coming at home and all four losses coming on the road. The Diplomats will face their final home test this Saturday against Johns Hopkins before heading out to Gettysburg to close out the season.
