LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall senior offensive lineman, Clarke Miller, was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Football Second Team when it was released on Thursday.
Miller is a Government major from Richmond, Virginia and a graduate of St. Christopher’s School. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. The All-District team is voted upon by the district's Sports Information Directors.First team selections move on to Academic All-America balloting.
Miller has started each of F&M’s eight games this season at right tackle, giving him 27 career starts. He is the only returning starter on the F&M offensive line in 2009. The senior is the first Diplomat gridder named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District II team since Dan Eggerston landed the honor in 2004, en route to Academic All-American status.
Miller has helped Franklin & Marshall to a 7-1 record with a 5-1 mark in Centennial Conference (CC) play. F&M is tied with Johns Hopkins and Dickinson for first place in the CC.
The Diplomats will travel to Baltimore to face Hopkins on Saturday.
