F&M Set to Host ECAC Bowl

CAPE COD, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced its 2012 Football Bowl Championships.  This year twelve teams, including Franklin & Marshall, will be competing in six bowls on Saturday, Nov. 17.  Each bowl will be hosted by an ECAC member institution.

The Diplomats (7-3) will host Albright (7-3) in Lancaster in the Southeast Bowl with kickoff set for 12:00 noon. The Lions finished fourth in the Middle Atlantic Conference, behind Widener, Lycoming and Delaware Valley.

The ECAC Bowl bid is F&M's ninth overall. The Diplomats last appearance was in 2010 when F&M fell to Washington & Jefferson while the last time the Diplomats hosted was in 2009 when F&M defeated Wilkes in the South Atlantic Bowl.

Albright has played in seven ECAC bowl games since 1995, winning five of them. The Lions played in the 2011 South-East Bowl, losing 14-0 at Cortland State.
