Former Franklin & Marshall football player William Gunnar Meekings '94 passed away on Dec. 28, 2012 at his home in Tewksbury, N.J. He was 40.
Meekings, who was born in Somerville, N.J., grew up in the Martinsville section of Bridgewater, N.J. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall, where he was a starting quarterback and captain of the football team and still ranks in the top of most statistical categories. He was a director in the Alternative Investments Group for Credit Suisse in Manhattan, N.Y.
Meekings was an avid athlete and continued to enjoy playing football, golfing and skiing. He was heavily involved as a youth basketball and softball coach for the Tewksbury Athletic Association and enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Danielle; his children Lucy, Natalie and Samuel; his parents, William and Brenda; his brother, David, and wife, Laura, and his brother, Bradley.
A celebration of Meeking's life was held on Sunday and a funeral mass was held today at St. John Neumann Church.
