LANCASTER, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall linebacker, Brendan Wengerter, will play in the Division III Senior Classic in Salem, Va. Friday night.
Wengerter (Cresskill, N.J. / Cresskill) put together one of the most dominating seasons at F&M, ranking in the top 35 in multiple categories across the nation. The senior ranked ninth in sacks per game (1.2), 21st in solo tackles (6.6), 32nd in total tackles (10.7) and 34th in tackles for a loss (1.7). Wengerter ended the year with 118 tackles (73s), 18.5 tackles for a loss and 13 sacks while finishing seven games with double-digit tackles. He was named to the Centennial Conference First Team and earned third team all-region honors this postseason.
The senior is the sixth Diplomat to play in the senior all-star game. George Eager and Clarke Miller competed in 2009, while John Troxell and his staff coached the south team's offense. Michael Deutch and Zach Robinson participated in 2010 while Kenny Provost played in last year's contest
