Diplomats Tied for Lead After 18

Round One Results 

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's men's golf team is tied for first place through 18 holes of the 54-hole Centennial Conference Championship Tournament. The Diplomats' Andrew Woods shot 76 on the par 72 Bridges Golf Club to claim the individual lead.  

Woods holds one stroke on five players in second place, including a pair of golfers from Dickinson, Chris Burns and Tucker Joyce. The Diplomats and Dickinson each shot 316 on Friday to share the lead. Diplomats' freshman, Danny Liebowitz, is one stroke behind the five-way second place logjam. He is one of three seventh place golfers that shot 78 in the first round.

Joe Fucigna and Bryan Hartog both shot an 81 to find their way into a four-way tie for 13th. Cameron Warner, winner of Wednesday's Messiah Falcon Classic, shot 85. He is alone in 26th place. 35 golfers are competing in the league championship tournament. F&M is seeking its third team championship and third individual medalist since the Conference formed prior to the 1994 season.

McDaniel is in third place, three strokes off of first place, followed by Muhlenberg at 322. Swarthmore and Gettysburg round out the field with respective scores of 331 and 333.

Play resumes tomorrow at The Bridges Golf Club, with the championship to be settled on Sunday.
