LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Stephen Colodny, Brad Lankler, and Ben Mitchell all garnered a spot on the 2017 Division III Ping Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Colodny and Lanker earned the honor for the third straight year, while Mitchell was named to the team for the first time.
Colodny (Westport, Conn. / Staples) continues his run of accolades after placing first at the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships, leading every round and ending the Tournament with a 219 (72-73-74) for his first CC Crown. He has totaled a 75.44 stroke average through 18 rounds and secured top-10 finishes in six events.
Lankler (Westfield, N.J. / Westfield) places second in the Conference with a 74.79 stroke average through 14 rounds and has earned a spot a top-10 spot in five out of the seven events he took part in. He tied for second place at this year's CC Tournament, finishing just three strokes behind Colodny with a 222 (73-74-74) for his third career top-3 finish at the Championships.
Mitchell (Roslyn, N.Y. / Roslyn) tied for sixth at the CC Tournament after turning in a 226. He produced rounds of 72-76-78 with three birdies on the final day of the Championships. His 72 total in round one marked his lowest score of his season and gave him his fourth top-10 showing of the year.
F&M continued its unparalleled dominance after securing its fourth straight CC Title and 14th overall Conference Championship. The Diplomats placed first in four regular-season tournaments and earned their 12th NCAA appearance.
