No.10 Generals Edge Diplomats

LEXINGTON, Va. - No.10 Washington & Lee rallied from a two-goal deficit after the third quarter with three goals in the fourth to defeat Franklin & Marshall 7-6 in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday night.

Tim Skeen netted the game-winning goal on a extra-man opportunity with 11:18 left to play and help the Generals (6-0) remain undefeated on the season. Will Keigler finished with a game-high five points with two goals and three assists, including the helper on Skeen's game winner.

Mark Hild logged two goals and an assist for the Diplomats (2-3).

The first quarter was back-and-forth scoring by both teams, starting with W&L's Chris Washington. Mark Hild responded 45 seconds later to even it up at 1-all. Sean Oliver, Jeff Ritter and Hild each scored again for F&M.

Seth Fishman gave the Generals a 3-2 lead at halftime with an unassisted goal with one second on the clock in the second quarter.

The Diplomats responded with three-straight goals in the third quarter to take their first lead at 6-4. Hild tallied his second goal and Noah Wilkinsky scored a man-up goal 50 seconds after to make it 5-4.

Colin McKew followed Fishman's footsteps and scored off a feed from Scott Hahn with time expiring in the third quarter for the two-goal lead.

The final three goals of the game belonged to W&L. Fishman pulled the Generals to within 6-5 on a goal off a feed from Keigler just 26 seconds into the quarter and Drew Koeneman knotted the score at 6-6 with an unassisted tally at the 13:44 mark.

Chris Marcozzi played the duration in the cage and notched 14 saves for the Diplomats.

F&M returns to action on Saturday at Ursinus. Game time is 1 p.m.
