#6 Bullets Shoot Down Diplomats
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg opened up a 3-0 lead through the first quarter and never looked back in a 12-5 win over Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s lacrosse action on Saturday.
The Bullets’ (11-3, 7-1 CC) Zach Pucci collected a pass from Joe Brody 2:13 into the game to give Gettysburg an early jump. Pucci finished the game with four goals while Brody finished with four assists. Pucci scored 2:21 before the half and 2:24 after the half to complete the hat trick. His fourth came in the final period.
Noah Wilkinsky accounted for the Diplomats (4-9, 2-6 CC) lone goal of the first half, 1:08 into the second quarter. He finished the game with a pair of goals and a pair of assists. Mark Hild registered a goal and an assist in the loss.
Gettysburg outshot the Diplomats 35-24, but F&M dominated most of the other statistical categories. F&M won 14 of the game’s 20 faceoffs with Sean Murphy and Andrew Setian each claiming seven draws. F&M had a 25-23 edge in ground balls, but turned over the orb 21 times compared to Gettysburg’s 16.
Chris Marcozzi made eight saves in the game for F&M. The loss concludes the Diplomats season.
