Casey Kear enters his seventh season on the Franklin & Marshall men's lacrosse staff.
Kear helped mentor two All-Americans in 2012, faceoff specialist Andrew Setitan and midfielder Jimmy Wenk. Under his guidance, the Diplomats ranked second in conference with 7.17 goals per game.
In 2007, Kear coached the Diplomat defense that only allowed
8.15 goals against per game. He also led F&M to a .852 success
rate on man down situations, ranking 7th in the nation in Division
III.
Kear is a 2006 graduate of the State University of New York at
Albany with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He was long stick
midfielder on the United States Military Academy at West Point
men's lacrosse team in 2002 and at Herkimer County Community
College in 2003, Kear helped lead Herkimer to the 2003 National
Junior College title.
He finished his career as a close defenseman at Albany during the
2004 and 2005 seasons as he totaled 76 ground balls in 32 games
with 17 starts, including starting all 16 games of 2005, in two
seasons. In 2004 and 2005 Kear's Albany team won the America
East Championship and finsihed ranked 13th in Division I.
Kear played at John Jay High School from 1999-2001 under his father Bob Kear and was an unanimous All-Section Standout all three seasons.
