Second-Half Goals Help Frostburg Over Dips

FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State men's soccer team registered three second-half goals to defeat Franklin & Marshall 3-0 in non-conference action on Wednesday night.

Hereford Jay made two saves to help the Bobcats (5-2) post their second straight shutout and avenge a 2-1 loss to the Diplomats (2-3) last season. Marchant Ricky and Vega Andres netted goals for Frostburg, while the third was recorded as an own goal.

After a scoreless first half where the Bobcats held a 5-2 edge in shots, Ricky capitalized on the second shot of the second half, finishing his one-on-one opportunity into the left corner in the 52nd minute.

Frostburg took a 2-0 lead at the 78:49 mark on an own goal, which provided momentum for its third goal by Andres. Gracia Adam found Andres with 3:25 remaining in the game for the final marker.

Eric Noto recorded two shots on the night and Zack Zamek tallied six saves, while the team took 10 corner kicks to the Bobcats three.

F&M opens its Centennial Conference slate at Muhlenberg on Saturday. Game time is 7 p.m.
