Diplomats Rally to Defeat Fords
LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Haverford 2-1 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's soccer action Saturday evening. The Diplomats improved to 7-2-1 (3-1) while Haverford falls to 4-5 (1-3 CC).
It took the Fords just 50 seconds to score when a scramble ensued in front of the net and Fernando Gracia fired the shot just out of the reach F&M's Zach Zamek. It was all Diplomats after that, as F&M outshot the Fords 14-2 in and held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Eric Noto tied the game at one apiece when he fired the ball home from the top of the box at 58:48. The Diplomats went up for good when Rob Hassler took a Rodrigo Nogales pass through two defenders and tapped the ball over the goalies hands for the game-winner.
Zamek picked up his seventh win of the year. Zamek improves to 7-2-1 this season. Charlie Michele took the loss for the Fords.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on October 7th when the Diplomats host Elizabethtown in the Battle for the Boot.
