White Named CC Defensive Player of the Week
LANCASTER, Pa. - In his first week as Franklin & Marshall's starting goalkeeper, T.J. White has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is the first career player of the week honor for White and the first CC honor for the Diplomats in 2011.
White, a freshman, was inserted into the starting lineup prior to last Tuesday's home non-conference tilt with Cabrini and came through with a pair of victories in net last week to help F&M improve to 9-4-2 (4-3 CC). He totaled three saves in 79:21 minutes of action in the Diplomats' 5-1 triumph over Cabrini, before turning away seven shots in a 1-0 victory against Washington College last Saturday.
The Diplomats currently sit in a fourth-place tie with Swarthmore in the CC standings and control their own destiny towards the playoffs with two contests remaining. F&M travels to Gettysburg on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7:00 pm, before hosting Dickinson on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6:00 pm to close out the regular season.
