Squash Evens Record at GWU
WASHINGTON – Franklin & Marshall’s men’s squash team improved its record to 1-1 with a 9-0 sweep of George Washington University Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats won seven of the nine scoring matches in three to hand GW (7-2) its second loss of the season.
F&M is undefeated against George Washington in the 31 matches between the teams.
In the number one position, Nadav Tannen (1-1) picked up his first win in an F&M uniform with a 9-6, 9-2, 9-3 dispatching of Jose Calderon. After a tight first game, Sadiq Madraswala (1-1) cruised to a win allowing just three points over the final pair of games. Chris Gagnier, Ry Hawley, Shane Slater, Zarir Aibara and Ben Lurio each also recorded 3-0 sweeps t move to 1-1 on the year.
F&M’s Patrick Pasquariello (1-1) played the tightest match of the day. He ultimately toppled Michael Nair 10-9, 10-9, 8-10, 9-1.
The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday, December 3, when
F&M hosts Princeton. That match gets underway at 7:00 p.m.
