Mens Squash Falls to Williams in Hoehn Semis
PRINCETON, N.J. - Franklin & Marshall took the first and second positions, but it was all Ephs from there as the Diplomats (15-6) fell 7-2 to Williams (11-7) in the semifinals of the Hoehn Cup at the CSA Championships. The loss was the sixth in as many matches against Williams, which has owned the series since the early 1990's.
F&M got wins from Nadaav Tannen and Gabriel de Melo. Tannen (15-5) knocked off the Ephs' No. 1, Ethan Buchsbaum 3-1 (9-6, 9-4, 7-9, 9-4). de Melo (12-2) yielded eight points at No. 2 to Williams' William Morris, sweeping him 9-5, 9-0, 9-3.
The Diplomats will face Bates at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday for 11th place in the nation. F&M defeated Bates 5-4 at the Yale Round Robin earlier in the season. A win tomorrow would match the school's record for wins in a season.
