HANOVER, N.H. – Gabriel and Gui de Melo's seasons came to an end at Dartmouth on Saturday. Gui went 1-1 on the second day of the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships, while Gabriel bowed out after a loss in the consolation quarterfinals.

Gui de Melo worked his way into the consolation semifinals with a 3-2 win over Rochester's Adam Perkiomaki, 11-4, 8-11, 11-7, 11-13, 11-7. Chris Hanson ended de Melo's tournament with a 3-1 win (12-10, 4-11, 12-10, 12-10) over the sophomore.

"It's little consolation to Gui, but he played his best squash of the weekend in that match" said John White.

It was Hanson's third win over a de Melo this season. Dartmouth's player knocked off Gabriel de Melo in the regular season and again at the CSA Team Championships. de Melo closed the season at 15-9.

After winning the first two games, Gabriel dropped the next three in a 3-2 loss (6-11, 7-11, 14-12, 11-1,11-9) to Rochester's Andres Duany. The loss wrapped de Melo's junior season at 12-7. He will enjoy a top 16 ranking when the dust settles.
