Diplomats Wrap Up Fifth Straight Title

Team Championship: Franklin & Marshall | Outstanding Performer: Tom Grabiak, Franklin & Marshall
LANCASTER, Pa. - Franklin & Marshall's men's swim team smashed the Centennial Conference record for team points in a championship en route to picking up the Diplomats' fifth consecutive title and seventh overall. F&M scored 910.5 points over the three day meet, eclipsing the record of 780 set by the 2005 Diplomats.
Tom Grabiak was named the meet's Outstanding Performer for the second-straight season. He picked up three individual gold medals and four relay gold medals to go along with an automatic qualifier in the 200-yard breaststroke and NCAA B-Cuts in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley. Grabiak's honor marks the seventh Outstanding Performer award for F&M.
Grabiak took first place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:03.62 Sunday night with a 2:03.62. He joined David Apple, Matt Woods and Peter Fishler. Fishler and Woods went one-two in the 100-yard freestyle with respective marks of 46.86 and 47.16.
Eliot Scymanski picked up a bronze medal in the 1650-yard freestyle. He swam the 4,950 foot circuit in 16:51.71. Matt Jaffee and David Fell earned silver and bronze in the 200-yard backstroke as did Mason Wash and Scymanski in the 200-yard butterfly.
The Diplomats held 225 points on Swarthmore in second place. Third place went to Gettysburg followed by Dickinson.
