Diplomats Advance 10 to Final Round

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall men's swimming team heads into the final round advancing 10 swimmers to Sunday's finals. Three swimmers will compete in the championship round while seven others reach the consolation finals for the Diplomats.

David Fell swam to a second place finish in the 200 backstroke at 1:54.11 and Denton Richards took seventh with a time of 1:58.91. F&M's other swimmer to reach the championship round was Billy Cappuccio who swam to a 2:14.85 for a fifth place finish. Travis Catania placed 11th at 2:16.57 to head to the consolation final.

Four swimmers reached the consolation final for the Diplomats in the 100 free, John Zipp (47.37) placed ninth, Zach Wilt (47.74) touched for a 12th place finish, Dennis Chen (48.12) took 14th, and Jin Hwang (48.24) finished in 16th place.

The final two swimmers advancing for F&M were Eliot Scymanski (2:00.90) and Mason Wash (2:01.97) placing 12th and 13th in the 200 butterfly.

The final session begins tonight at 6 p.m. with the 1,650 free, 200 backstroke, 100 free, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and 400 free relay.
