FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Inigo Flores and Jack Rothman's victory in the B1 Doubles bracket led a solid showing for the Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team this past weekend at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, hosted by Mary Washington.

Flores and Rothman reeled off four victories in a row, including three over Centennial Conference (CC) opponents, to claim the B1 Doubles title. A pair of 8-2 victories in the opening rounds led to a semifinal meeting with Ursinus' Chanton Phan and Peter Shields, with the F&M duo punching their ticket to the final with an 8-5 win. A dominant 8-3 victory over Haverford's Robert Kresch and Arnav Patodia sealed the tournament win for the pair of Diplomat captains.
Also playing doubles for F&M was the team of Zack Levin and Isaac Salas in the Championship Doubles bracket. Levin and Salas started strong with an 8-1 win in the opening round, before falling 8-5 in the round of 32 to a team from Christopher Newport.
Levin and Salas also represented the Diplomats in the Championship Singles. Salas made a run into the round of 16 by logging victories of 6-3, 7-6 in the first round and 7-5, 7-5 in the second round before falling to Christopher Newport's Justin Cerny in a tight 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 match. Levin fell in the first round against Johns Hopkins' Mike Buxbaum, the tournament's No. 1 seed and 2015 champion.
Freshman Andrew Pace performed well in his collegiate debut, reaching the second round of the B1 Singles with an 8-5 victory before falling 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals. Evan Drapeau recorded an 8-4 victory in his opening match of the B3 Singles before dropping an 8-6 decision to JT von Seggern of Randolph in the quarterfinals.
The conclusion of the ITA's mark the end of the fall season. The team returns to action for the spring season on Feb. 25 when Ursinus comes to Lancaster for the first match of 2017.
