A 2009 graduate of North Carolina State University, Zink was the top doubles player and ranked top four to six in singles for the Wolfpack. He ranked 20th in NCAA doubles.  Prior to these achievements, Zink was ranked No. 32 in the country in 2002.  In 2003, he won the Copper Bowl Championship and was named No. 1 in the Middle States Tennis Association.

Zink continued his tennis career, teaching all ages and levels of players at the Bent Creek Country Club from 2003 to 2008 and has been working as a teaching pro since 2007.
