Men's Tennis Blanks McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Franklin & Marshall men's tennis team recorded its second Centennial Conference (CC) win, blanking McDaniel 9-0 on Thursday afternoon.
Five players were double winners for the Diplomats (4-3, 2-2 CC), including Armen Vartan and Brett Joseph. Vartan and Joseph tallied an 8-4 win at the top doubles spot and went on to pick up singles victories for F&M.
Josh Calo and Paul Salierno mimicked Vartan and Joseph with an 8-4 score at No. 2 singles, while William McGuinness and Noah Bachow followed with an 8-1 win to give the Diplomats a 3-0 lead after doubles play.
Vartan had no problem at No. 1 singles, defeating Dan Hovorka 6-1, 6-1. Matthew Barker won the number two spot with a 6-4, 7-5 victory, before Joseph tallied the win at No. 3. Calo and McGuinness each won their first set easily and then fought to a 7-5 win in the second set for wins at No. 4 and 5, respectively.
The final F&M win was from Salierno with a 6-0, 6-1 defeat over Adrian Pettaway for the sweep of the Green Terror (0-7, 0-6 CC).
The Diplomats return to action on Saturday against No. 3 Johns Hopkins. Match time is 11 a.m.
