De Melo Earns Silver; Tillman Bronze
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall picked up a silver and a bronze medal on the second day of the Centennial Conference championship hosted by Muhlenberg.
Guileherme De Melo earned silver in the high jump with leap of 5-10.75 and Tim Tillman brought home a bronze in the decathlon with 5,258. Steve Barna placed fifth in the discus with a 131-06.
In the preliminaries, Nils Michaelis reached the finals in the 100 with an 11.10. Michaelis won the preliminary in the 110 hurdles with a NCAA provisional time of 14.79. Brian Rivera was first in the 400 hurdles with a 57.73 and Michaelis was fifth with 56.25.
The Diplomats are sixth in the team standings.
The third and final day of the championship is Sunday with events beginning at 11 a.m.
