Dohrmann, DMR Take First
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Mike Dohrmann and the Distance Medley Relay Team took first to lead Franklin & Marshall at the Orange and Maroon Classic hosted by Susquehanna on Sunday. The Classic featured primarily Division III Teams and was a non-team scoring event.
Dohrmann reset the school record in the 60-meter hurdles with an 8.61 finish. Mike Arnold '08 previously set the record in 2005 with an 8.91. Josh Wesalo, Joe Strawitz, Francis Blancero and Tim Merlino made up the distance medley relay team that tied for first. The team equaled Susquehanna's time of 10:48.90. The Diplomats also placed a team third in the event as Luk Olenginski, Greg Olenginski, Angelo Arce and Greg Duckloe crossed at 10:48.92.
F&M placed two in the top ten in the 800-meter. Greg Olenginski took third in 2:04.34 while Strawitz finished seventh in 2:06.78. Troy Harrison crossed at 7:37 in 60-meter to place fifth and Dohrmann turned in the fourth fastest with a 23.70 in the 200-meter dash.
Off the track, Vincent Acosta took third in the shot put with a throw of 43' -.25".
F&M returns to action on Saturday when the Diplomats travel to Delaware.
