Olenginski Breaks Own Record in 800

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Luk Olenginski broke his own school record in the 800 meters and Nils Michaelis registered a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles to lead the Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg on Saturday. There was no team scoring in the event. 

Olenginski placed fifth in the 800 with a mark of 1:53.44, besting the school record that he set last year (1:54.00) by over half a second. 

Michaelis posted a season-low time of 14.96 to nab second in the 110 hurdles in a field of 38 runners. 

The Diplomats had a strong showing in the 5000 meters as Bryan Andrews claimed third with a time of 15:51.25, with Greg Duckloe on his heels in fourth at 15:51.97. Josh Wesalo also secured a top-20 placing with a 19th-place finish at 16:43.68. 

Vincent Acosta took 13th in the javelin at 44.37 meters, and also grabbed 16th in the shot put at 12.63 meters. Brad Krell placed 20th in the 400 with a time of 52.67. 

F&M returns to action on Friday for day one of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships hosted by Ursinus.
