WESTFIELD, Mass. – Franklin & Marshall wrapped up competition at the ECAC Division III Men's Track and Field Championship, held at Westfield State University in Massachusetts. A pair of Diplomats secured third-place finishes to pace a total of three Diplomats who competed at the event.
- Michael Whalen produced a bronze performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:00.09 to finish third out of seven competitors. Grove City's Drew Thibault secured gold at 9:46.91.
- Tanner Erisman and Ryan Kozloski both took part in the javelin throw. Erisman was awarded bronze after recording a distance of 56.67 meters, while Kozloski place sixth with a throw of 52.57 meters. Springfield's Whitton DeVaux paced the field with a measure of 63.45 meters.
Logan Lewis holds the Diplomats' best chance of qualifying a member of their team for the 2017 NCAA Championships, held in Geneva, Ohio from May 25-27. Lewis currently places 21st in the shot put with a season-best distance of 52' 7.25" (16.03 meters), which he set at the Penn Relays. With the top-20 being selected for the field, Lewis will need to remain on the bubble for a chance of making the Championships as a possible alternate.
