SELINSGROVE, PA - Andrew Thompson (Jr., Windsor, CT/Loomis-Chaffee) crossed the finish line in 50.45 to place first in the 400 meters and lead the Franklin & Marshall College men's indoor track team at the Susquehanna University Invitational.
Thompson's time was 0.15 seconds faster than runner-up Mike Sanders of Susquehanna and 0.40 seconds off the Garrett Sports Complex Field House record of 50.05 set by Moravian's Scott Silvoy on March 1, 2003.
In the distance events, Paul Riley (Sr., Bloomsburg, PA/Bloomsburg) finished in 9:36.37 to place 21st in the 3,000 meters, while Ken Smiley (So., Lancaster, PA/McCaskey) placed 25th in 9:47.56.
Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on February 27-28 at the Centennial Conference Championship Meet hosted by Haverford College.
