LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall’s 133-pound senior, Jake Bucha (E. Norriton, Pa. / Norristown), is ranked third in his weight class in the latest Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) poll.
Bucha is ranked third at 133 pounds behind Penn’s Rollie Peterkin and Lehigh’s Frank Cagnina. Kevin Tao (American), Joe Stanzione (Cornell) and Cortlandt Choate (Brown) round out the wrestlers ranked at the weight. Bucha is ranked 30th in the nation at 133 pounds by WrestlingReport.com.
The Diplomats’ senior is 8-0 on the season and has won 25 of his last 30 bouts. At 55-19 in his career, Bucha is tied for 19th in career victories at F&M along with Bryon Magill ’96, Jon Koteski ’96 and Rich Gebauer ’05. His latest victory was a convincing 12-8 over Navy’s Allen Stein. It was Bucha’s tenth win inside of Halsey Field House. He won the 133-pound bracket at the Navy Classic earlier this season.
Bucha is presently F&M’s only ranked wrestler in the EIWA poll. Cornell sits in first in the team rankings followed by Lehigh, American, Rutgers and Penn.
Franklin & Marshall is idle until the Wilkes Open on December 28.
