Pelusi Wins Title at Warriors Winter Open

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Antonio Pelusi went 3-0 in the 285-pound bracket to roll to a first-place finish and lead a group of Franklin & Marshall wrestlers at the Warriors Winter Open, hosted by East Stroudsburg on Sunday.

The title was Pelusi's second-consecutive tournament victory after the 2016 NCAA D1 Qualifier also stood atop of the medal stand at the Messiah Open on Feb. 4. 

Each of Pelusi's three wins on the day came by way of decision, including a 3-2 win against Penn.'s Patrik Garren in the first-place match. 

Cole Aaron (unattached) and Nick Maher both competed at 149 for the Diplomats. Aaron won his opening round contest with a 6-2 decision over American's Jacob Montes before falling in his next two. Maher bounced back from a loss in the championship round with a 7-0 decision in the wrestle backs. 

F&M returns to the mat on Thursday, traveling to Millersville for the annual Rupp Cup. The dual is set for a 7:00 p.m. start.
