Coach Schuyler began at F&M in the 1998-1999 season with the
mission to rebuild the Diplomats into a powerhouse of Division I
intercollegiate wrestling. To do this, Schuyler will look for
athletes "who will do what it takes to achieve success as a student
athlete and also as an alumnus in their chosen field." Schuyler has
been actively building the F&M program since he came on board
and has coached the Pennsylvania Junior National Team since the
summer of 1999.
Schuyler graduated from Lehigh University in 1983 with a degree in
Finance and an outstanding wrestling career. He was a two-time
champion in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association
(EIWA) and earned All-American status by placing third in the 1983
NCAA Championships at 134 pounds. He was a three time USA Wrestling
Freestyle All-American and competed on the World Cup Team in 1985
where he placed fourth. He earned a master's degree in
Administrative Management in 1995 from the University of Maryland
(Bowie).
A native of Bound Brook, NJ, he brings more than a decade of
collegiate coaching experience to F&M, including one year as
head coach at James Madison University and nine years as an
assistant coach at the United States Naval Academy.
After serving as volunteer coach at Lehigh, Schuyler began his
coaching career as an assistant at James Madison University. He was
elevated to head coach in 1987 and led JMU to his highest team
finish to that point at the NCAA Championships. He was named one of
the Top Five Rookie Coaches by Amateur Wrestling News that
year.
At Navy, he coached fifteen EIWA champions, five NCAA Division I
All-Americans and contributed to a 136-41-4 record by the
Midshipmen.
Catullo joined the F&M staff in the fall of 2005 after
serving as an assistant coach at Northern State University in
Aberdeen, South Dakota for two years.
Under his guidance, the Northern State wrestling team finished in
the top 15 at the NCAA tournament and achieved success off the mat
as the Wolves were ranked 12th by the NCAA with a team GPA of 3.16
and produced five Academic All-America selections.
A member of the West Virginia University wrestling team from
1997-2002, he contributed to the starting lineup as a junior in
2001 and gained experience as a sophomore and red-shirt freshman
during the 1999 and 2000 wrestling seasons.
A native of Oakmont, Pennsylvania, Catullo wrestled to a 57-30
record and an undefeated senior season in dual meet competition
while at Riverview High School. A three-year captain and two-time
outstanding wrestler, he earned four letters in wrestling at
Riverview.
A graduate of West Virginia University in Morgantown, West
Virginia with a bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education
Teaching, he holds a master's degree in Health and Physical
Education with a minor in coaching from Northern State University.
