Diplomats Improve to 4-0

LANCASTER, Pa. - Allison Bauer's trey with 9:36 left in the first half put Franklin & Marshall up for good as the Diplomats defeated Susquehanna 61-44 in women's basketball action Sunday evening.  The victory marks the first time F&M (4-0) has defeated the Crusaders (3-2) in a series that stretches over 11 games.

The Diplomats got off to a slow start trailing by as much as five points in the first. Bauer scored five points in a span of a minute to put F&M up for good. 

The Diplomats finished the first half strong going on a 16-10 run in the last nine minutes.

Beth Holt, Amy Chabitnoy and Bauer all finished the half with seven points.  The Crusaders' Samantha Cartwright had six.

F&M continued to build off the momentum from the first half to start the second. The Diplomats went on an 18-9 run in the first 11 minutes of the half to lead by as much as 16.  They increased the lead to 21 points on an Alison Menna layup with 3:16 left.

Bauer scored a game-high 14 points, shooting 6-for-9 from the field and pulling down five boards.  Menna and Holt also scored in double-digits with 10 and 11 points respectively.

Menna shot 55% from the field and collected five rebounds. Holt went 4-for-10 and dished out eight assists. Colleen Bott pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Rachael Hughes led the way for the Crusaders with 10 points.  Hughes shot 50% from the floor.  Jessica Zigarelli had six rebounds for Susquehanna.

Franklin & Marshall returns to court on December 3rd when the Diplomats host Ursinus.
