Head-to-Head: Franklin & Marshall and Washington are meeting for the 24th time with the Diplomats holding a 19-4 advantage. F&M beat the Shorewomen on Jan. 5 while Washington's last win in the series was in 2008. Muhlenberg faces F&M for the 38th time with the Diplomats holding a slim 20-17 series lead. The Mules beat F&M in January. The Diplomats last win in the series was in 2008.
Last F&M Game:Franklin & Marshall used a 16-4 scoring run in the first half, which erased a 12-point deficit, that helped lift the Diplomats to a 64-57 win over Haverford in a Centennial Conference (CC) game.
Haverford scored the first six points of the game and would lead, 21-9, with 8:42 left in the first half. F&M responded with a 16-4 run to tie the game at 25-25 with 4:36 left. Five players scored points in the run for the Diplomats with Beth Holt, Elizabeth Snyder and Alexa Barbush netting three each. The Fords closed out the first half with a 7-2 run to lead 32-29.
The first 10 minutes of the second half featured three ties which was aided by F&M's six unanswered points to begin the half. The last tie was 37-37 before the Diplomats went up for good on two layups by Pauley and a free throw from Allison Bauer. F&M iced the game going 14-of-16 from the line in the final two minutes.
Barbush led all scorers with 19 points and added for four steals for F&M. Holt scored 15 points and dished out six assists and Pauley added 11 points with five rebounds. Alison Menna pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
Dominique Meeks recorded a double-double for Haverford with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Nina Voith netted a team-high 15 points for the Fords and Cara Wyant chipped in with 14.
Last Time We Met Washington:Beth Holt and Alexa Barbush each scored 16 points to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 64-53 win over Washington College in a Centennial Conference (CC) game.
F&M trailed just once in the opening stanza, 3-2, but never again in the half after Elizabeth Snyder's layup at the 16:58 mark. Washington made it a one-point game twice in the first half but F&M answered both times and eventually took a 29-26 lead into the half.
Holt and Barbush shared a game-high in scoring with WC's Kelly Mitchell with 16 points. Barbush went 4-of-10 from the field and 8-for-9 from the line. Holt drained three treys and added six rebounds and five assists. Snyder pumped in nine points off the bench for F&M and Pauley grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Latisha Pledger picked up a double-double for Washington with 11 points and 14 rebounds while teammate Erin Fitzgerald chipped in with 11 points.
Last Time We Met Muhlenberg: Centennial Conference front runner Muhlenberg went on a 12-2 scoring run, in the final six minutes, to knock off Franklin & Marshall, 66-58.
Muhlenberg held an eight-point, 26-18, lead in the first 13 minutes of the game before F&M answered with an 8-0 run. Alexa Barbush sank a free throw and hit a layup before Alison Bauer's trey and Beth Holt's layup tied the game at 26-26 with 5:04 left in the first.
The Mules built their lead to 41-34 at the 18:41 mark that sparked an F&M 9-2 run that tied the game at 43-43 with 14:54 left. Holt scored seven points in the run while Megan Pauley added two. Kristina McCarthy's layup at 14:19 gave the Diplomats their first lead of the game.
