Pink Zone 2011
The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team will hold its fourth annual WBCA Pink Zone game Wednesday against Johns Hopkins 6 p.m. at Mayser Center. Admission is free and donations are welcome at the door.
The team will sell raffle tickets for an autographed pink basketball. Raffle tickets can be purchased throughout the women's game and during the first half of the men's game. Tickets are $5 for one or $10 for three. The winner will be announced at halftime of the men's game. Pink Ribbons will also be on sale for $1.
Last year, F&M raised over $1,000 for the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund thanks to donations. On Wednesday the Diplomats will be wearing blue t-shirts with pink letters during the warm-up to show their support and challenge fans to wear pink to the game in honor of breast cancer survivors.
The WBCA Pink Zone® initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
