Diplomats Drive Past Owls

LANCASTER, Pa- Three players reached season-high figures as Franklin & Marshall defeated Bryn Mawr 74-28 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's basketball action Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 10-5, 7-3 CC while the Owls fell to 0-12, 0-9 CC.

A high-paced offense led by Kristina McCarthy, who recorded a game-high 14 points, allowed F&M to settle in quickly. F&M went on a 15-0 run to open the contest, not allowing the Owls to convert their first points until the 13:02 mark.

The Diplomats strung together another strong run throughout the rest of the period, allowing the Owls to score just a pair of free throws and a lay-up to take a commanding 32-6 lead into the break.

After the break, the Diplomats continued right where they left off as they outscored the Owls 42-22 in the second half. F&M led from start to finish and pushed its lead to as many as 48 points in the victory.

McCarthy led the way for the Diplomats netting a game-high 14 points on 4-for-5 shooting. Colleen Bott also hit double figures dropping in 13 on the afternoon. Emily Johnson contributed a season-high nine points while also pulling down a career-high 10 rebounds. Kara Bacile added a career-high seven points and game-high five assists, while Lesile Bacile tallied a career-high six points.

Nicolette Parmese led the Owls in scoring with a team-high 12 points while also grabbing a team-high ten boards. Jackie Handy contributed six points and six rebounds on the afternoon.

F&M returns to the floor on Wednesday evening when the Diplomats host Dickinson at 6:00 p.m. in CC action
