Lentz Named 2005 Women's Lacy Linchpin Basketball Award Recipient

LANCASTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall College guard Maura Lentz (Sr., Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) has been named the winner of the 2005 women's basketball "Lacy Linchpin" Award.

The head basketball coach selects winners of the "Lacy Linchpin" Award, presented on behalf of the late Dr. and Mrs. O.W. Lacy in memory of their daughter Lucinda Puryear Lacy '76.

The award is presented to "a member of the women's and men's basketball teams who have been a linchpin or cornerstone of the team - someone who is quietly modest, scrupulously fair, uprightly honorable and steadfastly diligent in practice, in the game, in the classroom and on- and off-campus."

This year, she contributed 198 points, 96 rebounds, 69 assists, 43 steals and six blocks as she raised her career totals to 369 points, 180 rebounds, 119 assists, 71 steals and 10 blocks.

Franklin & Marshall finished the 2005 season 11-14, 9-9 in Centennial Conference play.
