F&M Competes Against Hamilton, Skidmore

ROME, N.Y. – Franklin & Marshall's women's rowing team placed second in both of their races against boats from Hamilton and Skidmore on Sunday on the Erie Canal.

The Results

F&M's First Varsity 8+ boat of Kathryn Benedetto (coxswain), Katie Benham (8), Jillian Goss-Holmes (7), Teresa Chappell (6), Sarah Nelson (5), Erin Smith (4), Milly Herz (3), Leah Issokson (2) and Paige Alexander (1) completed their event at 8:22.0, good for second ahead of Skidmore (8:41.6). Hamilton was first with a time of 8:06.7 

A boat of Dori Coplan (coxswain), Rachel Topper (8), Anna Kohler (7), Helen Nelson (6), Annette Von Jaglinsky (5), Jamie Davidow (4), Margaret Stoner (3), Rebecca McCain (2) and Taylor Baker (1) competed in the Second Varsity 8+ race, also registered a runner-up finish with a time of 8:52.5. Hamilton also won that race at 8:26.6.

The Conditions

The course was 2,000-m upstream with a mild current, the headwind was registered at 8-11 miles per hour.
