Women's Rowing Takes Part at Day One of Dad Vail

PHILADELPHIA, Pa – Franklin & Marshall's women's rowing team competed at the prestigious Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia on Friday. One boat took to the water for the Diplomats at the 80th annual event and advanced into tomorrow's Petite Final.

A team of Kelly Minard (coxswain), Katie Benham (4), Helen Nelson (3), Sam Hershey (2), and Liz Brodie (1) produced the fastest time of any DIII boat in the Women's Varsity 4+ (Division II & III) event, ending their heat in third with a time of 7:40.475. U.C. San Diego paced the field at 7:31.030.

Saturday's Petite Final is set for a 9:50 a.m. start time and will see F&M take on five other boats, including a crew from MARC-rival Washington College.
