LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's No. 13 field hockey defeated Gettysburg 2-0 on Wednesday evening.
The Diplomats improved to 10-2 and remain undefeated in conference (CC) play at 7-0. The Bullets fell to 6-6, 4-2 CC.
F&M looked to get things going early in the first half with back-to-back penalty corners in the second minute, but Nicole Bodo's shot was kept under control by the Gettysburg 'keeper.
The teams exchanged offensive possession over the next 25 minutes until Bodo took the rebound off a shot and found the back of the cage to give F&M the 1-0 lead.
The Diplomats came out strong to start the second frame, with five shots in under 10 minutes but were unable to finish.
Ilianna Santangelo's one save was good for the win to bring her record to 10-2, while Gettysburg's Hayley Mowery recorded seven saves in the loss.
The Diplomats outshot the Bullets 17-5 and owned the advantage in penalty corners 8-5.
F&M travels to Washington on Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. matchup with only two more conference games before the CC playoffs begin.
