Women's Golf Finishes 19th
JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – Franklin & Marshall’s women’s golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the spring season in 19th place out of the 23 teams competing at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Classic.
Methodist won the 54-hole tournament at Indian Mound Golf Club by 32 strokes with a three-round total of 951. Illinois Wesleyan was second, followed by Seminole State. Birmingham Southern finished fourth as the only other team under 1,000 shots. F&M shot its second best round of the tournament on Sunday with a 385 for a three round total of 1165.
Meghan Maloney shot 267 (89-88-90) to finish in a four-way tie for 59th place in the field of 129 golfers. After shaving 10 shots from her Friday round, Grace Gallagher trimmed another six shots on Sunday to finish alone in 76th place with a 274 (100-90-84). Six spots behind was Julia Fiala with a 282 (96-92-94).
Saira Dar and Andrea Huffman finished in 125th and 126th place. Dar shot 350 (113-120-117), while Huffman shot 355 (124-112-119).
