ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's Kathleen Smith tied for third by shooting an 85 on Monday afternoon to pace the women's golf team at the Gettysburg Blue Cup. The Diplomats totaled a 399 on the par-72, 5,801-yard Hanover County Club course, good for a fifth-place showing out of seven teams.
Smith registered her second top-three finish in as many days after claiming the individual title by carding an 84 at the LVC Spring Invite on Sunday. At today's tournament, she finished just four strokes back of Gettyburg's Samantha Sessa who took first out of 39 competing golfers.
Ann Hagner totaled a 101 for F&M, followed by Lauren Caffee (104) and Harriet Waldron (109). Gettysburg was awarded the individual title after shooting a 342, followed by Stevenson in second (361), McDaniel in third (365) and Dickinson in fourth (369).
The Diplomats are set to take part in day one of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championship on Saturday at the Blue Ridge Country Club.
