STEVENS, Pa. – Kathleen Smith carded a 90 to tie for second place at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Diplomats' senior led the team in a field of 17 competitors at Foxchase Golf Club in the par-72, 6,054-yard event.
Smith earned her second top-10 finish of the fall season, only six strokes behind Lebanon Valley's Megan Kimmel who took first with an 84. Freshman Elizabeth Koloski produced her second straight strong showing by tying for fifth with a 94. Koloski came into the competition off a title-winning performance at the Dickinson Fall Invitational on Sept. 20, where she carded a 77.
Megan Whittier rounded out the scoring for F&M with a 111. Gettysburg won the team title by combining for a 372 on the day, followed by LVC with a 100 and Susquehanna with a 418. The Diplomats did not meet the minimum of four players required to record a finish in the team standings.
F&M returns to the course on Sunday, Oct. 18th, hosting another invitational when the Diplomats welcome teams to Overlook Golf Course for a noon tee time.
